The charts for the stocking are available via Flickr. You do not need a Flickr account to view or print the charts. Click on the thumbnail images below to view, download, and print the charts via Flickr. You will need to follow these instructions to obtain the chart images:
To download, click on “all sizes” icon near the top of the page, choose “Original Size” for the largest chart view, and then click “Download the Original Size.” If you’d like a closer view of the stocking chart, you can print the two halves on separate pages rather than the entire chart on one page. If you do this, note that a few rows are duplicated on both charts, so you’ll need to pay attention to the row numbers to avoid working extra rows.

Thank you so much for posting the directions for the vintage stockings. My grandmother started the tradition in our family, my mother continued into the next generation and I want to be able to continue it further as we add family members. When I ran across the directions in my mother’s knitting supplies, I cried because they were no longer readable. Thank you, thank you….
I am so happy to find this pattern. My Grandmother started making these around sixt some years ago for her grandchildren as they were born. After she passed away in 79 I took my sock and copied it stitch for stitch. I have been the maker of these ever since. Its into her great great grandchildren now. Thank u so much for this!
Thank you so much, I just found this the other day and I am making a stocking for my newest grandaughter, this is the stocking my daughter in law grew up with!….and she had asked me to make it for her daughter and I was going to try and copy it from her stocking, but now this will be so much better!
My daughter in law’s stocking was made by a family friend who is no longer living and no one could remember anything about the pattern.
This is great!
Thank You, Thank You , Thank You!!! My neice asked me to copy this pattern from a stocking her Grandmother has made for her Years Ago. She is getting a new Son In Law and wanted to make him feel like part of the family. I to the stocking to copy it but his is so much easier and now I am positive of a match .
